| - La National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) est une association sportive américaine organisant les programmes sportifs de nombreuses grandes écoles[Quoi ?] et universités aux États-Unis. Son historique plonge ses racines en 1940 avec la fondation de la National Association of Intercollegiate Basketball à Kansas City. Spécialisée dans le basket-ball, cette fédération est la première aux États-Unis à ouvrir ses portes aux athlètes noirs et blancs en (1948). En 1952, la fédération s'ouvre à d'autres sports et devient la NAIA. Sports : cross country, football américain (hommes seulement), football, volley-ball (féminines seulement), basket-ball, natation, athlétisme, lutte (hommes), baseball (hommes seulement), softball (féminines seulement) et tennis.
