  • Ishmael ben Phabi (Phiabi ou Phiakhi) (hébreu: ישמעאל בן פיאבי) est le nom porté par deux grands-prêtres, appartenant à la même famille sacerdotale. Tous deux ont officié dans le Second Temple de Jérusalem au Ier siècle: * Ishmael ben Phabi I, nommé par Valérius Gratus en 15, a officié un an avant d'être remplacé par Eléazar ben Hanan, également nommé par Gratus. * Ishmael ben Phabi II, nommé par Hérode Agrippa II en 56, a officié 6 ans. Membre de la délégation envoyée à Rome auprès de Néron pour régler l'opposition d'Agrippa II à la construction d'un mur dans le Temple, il reste otage à Rome. Joseph ben Simon, dit Cabi, lui succède. Il meurt décapité à Cyrène, après 70. Il est mentionné à plusieurs reprises dans la littérature tannaïtique et talmudique. *Une information donnée dans ce paragraphe est fausse. Le traité Yoma 9a accorde à l'archiprêtrise d'Ishmael ben Phavi une durée de 10 ans. S'il est entré en fonction à Pâques 50 (ce qui est probable) il l'a exercée jusqu'à Pâques 60. (fr)
