| - La collection « Connaissance de l'Orient » est une collection des éditions Gallimard, créée en 1956 par Étiemble. Elle a été dirigée à partir de 1991 par Jacques Dars. La collection a été créée en tant que série orientale de la Collection UNESCO d'œuvres représentatives. Elle comprend plusieurs sous-séries : arabe, bengalie, chinoise, coréenne, Égypte ancienne, égyptienne, indienne, japonaise, malaise, mongole, pakistanaise, persane, philippine, tibétaine, vietnamienne. La collection mère quant à elle a publié 120 titres entre 1956 et 2011. (fr)
